ED LONZINSKI HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE FESTIVAL

The late Ed Lonzinski camps it up with a number from Cabaret at EMTC's Music from the Mountains debut production in 1999. EMTC has kept Ed's memory alive through theater arts education programs bearing his name.

High school students receive theatrical training at EMTC's Ed Fest,
April, 2001.

This unique program, organized by EMTC in spring of 2001, brought together students from area schools in a living tribute to the memory of impassioned acting coach Ed Lonzinski.  Ed Fest benefited from the talent and experience of nine gifted instructors, representing a broad range of specialties within the theater arts.

Ed Fest took place on April 29, 2001 at Blue Ridge High School.  It was a full day of musical theater workshops for high school students, capped off with an evening "Final Performance" of show scenes presented by two area schools.

Ed Fest Final Performance Scenes:
LI'L ABNER -- Blue Ridge
THE MUSIC MAN -- Windsor

(Ed Lonzinski's memory continues to live on through EMTC's Ed Camp, a summer opportunity for middle and high school students interested in any and all aspects of the theater arts.)

Stephen Sondheim's Broadway smash relates the ancient Roman escapades of crafty slave Pseudolus, who longs to be free.  The hilarious complications of his story involve aristocrats, courtesans, soldiers, lovers, and procurers, all embroiled in an entertaining frenzy of wit, slapstick, and brilliantly comic songs.

Bob DeLuca as the charming Jesus Costazuela.

The Odd Couple (Female Version) is Neil Simon's revision of his original hit.  This time the principals and their buddies are women instead of men. But Florence and Olive are every bit as hysterically mismatched and mutually aggravating as the original play's Felix and Oscar!
